The goal of Cute Machining is the optimization of production process by bridging the digital fabrication to the real world production line. Machining tools will be transferred into „Smart Objects“ and will be able to communicate with a higher-level data base and to provide actual runtime information. The key for success will be a novel sensor RFID technology, which will identify the tools faultlessly also in bad environmental conditions. Together with the Fraunhofer IMS ID4us develops the reader device.
